Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kebbi State Command, has intercepted a 24-year-old lady, Bunmi Babatunde, while she was being trafficked to Libya.
Addressing journalists in Birnin Kebbi, the Comptroller of NIS, Rabi Bashir Nuhu, said the lady was arrested by officials of NIS at their patrol post in Yauri as she made to meet with a yet-to-be-identified lady who was arranging her journey to Libya from Sokoto.
While handing her over to NAPTIP Head of operations, Sadiq Atiku Abubakar, in her office, Nuhu said from the various items they discovered in her luggage, it was certain that she had made enough provisions for the long journey to Libya.
She added that the Libya-bound lady also concealed her identity as she earlier told immigration officials that her name was Temitope but upon further investigation, she confessed to them that her real name is Bunmi Babatunde.
While answering questions from journalists, Bunmi admitted she left Ibadan to meet a lady who was expected to arrange her journey to Libya from Sokoto.
