No fewer than 23 thugs were arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in electoral violence in various parts of Lagos metropolis.
Recovered from the suspects are ballot boxes and papers, chairs and tables.
Recall that voting was disrupted in some areas in Lagos when armed thugs besieged some polling centres.
Areas where violence broke out in the state include Mafolukun, Surulere, Epe, Mushin, FESTAC, Badagry and Itire.
Many voters, including a pregnant woman, and INEC officials sustained injuries in the process.
Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said those arrested had since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba.
