’23 females, 16 males’, Kaduna gives breakdown of students in Kidnappers’ den

The Kaduna State Government has confirmed that 39 students of the Federal College of Forestry Mechanization, Afaka in Igabi local government area of the state are missing.

Daily Trust had reported how gunmen invaded the school late Thursday.

Earlier, the state Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, had said  30 students could not be accounted for after the attack.

But in a statement on Friday evening, he said further checks have shown that 39 students are missing.

Earlier, the state government had stated that troops rescued 180 persons.

Daily Trust had reported how the remaining students were moved to an army cantonment in Kaduna.

Aruwan said the state government will continue to maintain close communication with the management of the college as efforts are sustained by security agencies towards the tracking the missing students.
