Doctors in different areas of medical specialisation have bagged diploma certificates of the National Post-Graduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN).
The doctors were awarded the certificates at the third post-graduate graduation ceremony held at the college in Lagos.
According to the college’s President, Prof. O. B Da Lilly-Tariah, 15 of the headbands bagged Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Anaesthesia, while 189 others bagged Diploma in Family Medicine.
Prof. Lilly-Tariah said the college took great pride in the doctors because they filled a vital although neglected area of clinical service delivery in the country.
He said, “We have heard loud arguments about the dearth of doctors and required skills in the primary and secondary tiers of medical practice. Your presence here today is to fill that void; be it in private or public service.
“We are gathered here to celebrate the sacrifices you have made in successfully completing the prescribed courses of study. I have no doubt that you have become better clinicians since you enrolled in this programme.”
He also urged the diplomates to uphold ethics of the profession in the discharge of their respective duties.
