“The study we are presenting today, ‘Election Management Bodies (EMBs) in Nigeria since 1958’, was conducted with the support of the Open Society Foundations. The research is not merely a historical recount but a comprehensive analysis which provides actionable insights into our electoral processes.

“It examines the actions of successive election management bodies and their contributions to the evolution of our electoral process, including aspects such as gender, age, and regional inclusiveness within EMBs,” she said.

Chairman of the Independent  National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, represented by INEC National Commissioner, Prof. Abdullahi Zuru, said sovereignty in any democracy lies with the people, adding that they express this through the process of elections.

The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof. Abubakar Suleiman, who commended the Electoral Hub for the giant strides, said the book offers an opportunity to take stock of the country’s electoral management governance system.
