2025 CHAN: Nigeria drawn against Senegal, Congo, and Sudan

Nigeria, the 2018 silver medallists, will compete against Senegal, Sudan, and the Republic of Congo in Group D of the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN), now scheduled for August 2025. Despite the rescheduling, Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda remain the joint hosts of the tournament.

The draws, which celebrated Africa’s rich cultural heritage and music, were held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. The event featured performances from iconic artists, including Bien from Sauti Sol, Uganda’s Ghetto Kids, and Kenya’s Red Fourth Choir.

Adding to the excitement, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced a significant increase in prize money. The winners will now take home $3.5 million—a 75% rise from the previous edition—while the total prize pool has been raised to $10.4 million.
