Now in its third year, the Acutech Pro-Am Championship has established itself as a stepping stone for golfers aiming to enter professional rankings. According to Zed Jituboh, chairman of the sponsoring company Acutech Support Systems Limited, the competition aligns with the company’s commitment to excellence.

“We’ve hosted this event for three consecutive years and plan to continue. Like in our business, we remain top-of-mind for our stakeholders,” Jituboh said. He praised the Ikeja Golf Club’s unique layout and welcoming atmosphere as reasons for selecting it as the host venue.

Reflecting on past editions, Jituboh expressed hope for a new winner to join previous champions Emos Korblah and Christopher Francis.

Jide Bolaji, Secretary of the Professional Golfers Association of Nigeria (PGA of Nigeria), highlighted the tournament’s importance in keeping players sharp. “Acutech’s consistency ensures golfers are prepared for the season early, especially after the holiday break,” Bolaji noted.

The tournament will be judged on the professionals’ 54-hole scores, with top amateurs from the host club also participating, adding excitement to the season opener.
