The CEO, who was represented by the bank’s Chief Financial Officer, Patrick Iyamabo, described the championship as a platform to foster network and healthy competition among golfers.

He confirmed the participation of both local and international players in both male and female categories, saying that past winners of the championship have received WAGR recognition and are now fully registered in the hall of fame.

“The inclusiveness achieved with the tournament has also been fostered with increased participation by captains of industry, senior stakeholders in corporate organisations, youths, children and teenagers who come from all over Nigeria and beyond to take part in the tournament.

“As an aspirational sport, golfing cutting across age, gender, culture, language, beliefs, social status, and differing abilities as we have proven overtime with the history of this tournament in Ikoyi Club. This is one of the reasons I strongly believe that there is no better place to build, deepen, and strengthen relationships than on the golf course,” he said.

He appreciated the management of the Ikoyi golf club, expressing delight over the partnerships for the past 63 years.

“The relationship has been worth the while we have enjoyed partnering on this remarkable initiative for 63 years and counting,” he said.
