The tournament is to feature eleven teams comprising six teams for Pink Hope Cup, three teams for General Hassan Cup and two high-goal teams for the event’s biggest prize, the African Patron Cup.

“We would appreciate early submission of entries to allow us to make all swift and necessary arrangements. All entries must be forwarded with entry payment as that guarantees your team entry for the tournament,” said the organisers.

In addition to the polo activities, the annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign will be held to promote education on breast cancer.

The event will provide essential screening services to many women who cannot afford it, as well as enlighten women on the early detection signs.

Last year, a formidable Kaduna based polo team, Fifth Chukker won the Emir of Zazzau African Patrons Cup.

The highly motivated Fifth Chukker overcame their opponents Malcomines 10-8 in the explosive six-chukka contest to win the coveted trophy at the magnificent Fifth Chukker Polo and Country Resort in Kaduna.

The African Patrons debuted in 2004 as African Masters, but was re-launched in 2008 as African Patrons Cup.

In 2011, African Patrons Cup added the Pink Hope polo as a platform to support Breast Cancer Awareness Movement in Northern Nigeria.
