The Senate Committee on Finance has asked the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to compel appearance of the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Hussaini Magaji, before it within 24 hours.
The committee’s chairman, Sani Musa, gave the directive on Wednesday after the Registrar General shunned the panel’s invitation for the third time to address discrepancies observed in the agency’s financial records.

Senior CAC officials, who represented the agency’s chief executive at the 2024 budget defence session, confirmed several invitations extended to Magaji but could not explain the reasons for his absence. Members of the committee expressed anger over the CAC boss’ decision to shun their invitations, saying even President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appeared before the lawmakers to present the 2024 budget.
