Ahead of the 2023 elections, posters of Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike were on Wednesday spotted on some streets in Abuja.
The poster, which urged support for Wike as the next president of Nigeria come 2023, carried the logo of PDP.
Wike, a PDP stalwart, is rumoured to have interest in the 2023 presidential poll as vice president.
“Rescue Nigeria 2023 from insecurity, poverty, bandit and killings,” was boldly written on the poster with the picture of Wike donning a kaftan.
Further checks showed the poster was sponsored by one Comrade Jingiri Bala Mato, National President, Rescue Nigeria Movement.
Reacting, the Rivers State government said the posters were printed by mischief makers, saying the governor is presently preoccupied with his mission to make the state a better place and destination of choice.
The state commissioner for Information and Communication, Paulinius Nsirim, said the governor has not informed anyone that he is interested in the presidency of the country.
