A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Jackson Lekan Ojo has said Nigeria does not need a political dictator as president in 2023.
He said President Muhammadu Buhari must put the nation on the path of glory and resolve the internal squabbles in the ruling party before leaving office.
Chief Ojo, who is also the Coordinator of the Yoruba Youth Alliance (YYA), told Daily Trust on Sunday in a telephone interview yesterday, that it was incumbent on Buhari to ensure the APC retained power beyond 2023.
He said former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s recent comment that Nigeria needed a character like Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State was an indication that 2023 politics had kicked off, adding that the President should anoint someone with a track record of good governance to emerge as presidential candidate of the APC.
