The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shettima, has said he would personally reach out to the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso at the appropriate time ahead of the 2023 elections.
Shettima, who was delivering a lecture at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Imams Forum yesterday in Abuja as one of the invited guests, was apparently cracking a joke with a former House of Representatives member, Garba Ibrahim Muhammed, who represented Senator Kwankwaso at the event.

“I vowed not to speak of any humiliation against Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso throughout the upcoming elections. He is a great leader, and God willing, we will sit together and understand one another at the appropriate time soon.
“Those planning to divide this country will not succeed, and as such, we have to tolerate one another and make sacrifices,” Shettima said.
Earlier in his speech, the chairman, Committee of the FCT Imam Initiative (CFII), Imam Tajuddeen Bello, said the event had representatives of imams from all the 17 southern states of the country in attendance, with the theme: “Imams’ Unity for National Development.”
He said a similar conference was also organised for the 19 northern states’ imams last year.
