A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara, Dr Anas Sani Anka(Snr), has said that the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will change the political landscape in Nigeria if elected president in 2023.
According to him, Tinubu will build a political institution that will transform the country for the better.
He explained that his (Tinubu) achievements in Lagos State where he served as Governor made him a competent person to lead the country.
Dr Anka who also serves as an adviser on media and publicity to the party’s north-west presidential campaign council coordinator, Governor Muhammed Bello Matawalle, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in the state.
He also explained that there are people across the country who were supported and mentored by Tinubu politically and they have served the country diligently. He mentioned such individuals as Babatunde Fashola; Vice President, Prof Yomi Osibanjo; Former governor of Ekiti State, Fayemi Kayode, among others.
“All we are trying to say is that Tinubu is not self-centred so he does not think of himself alone. A good example is the foundation he laid in Lagos state where he served as the governor.
“The state keeps developing which is why I believe if he comes on board as the elected president he will build a political institution that will bring positive change and development to the country,” he said.
Dr Anka also said the running mate, Kashim Shatima, had transformed Borno State and also left a predecessor that is doing well for the people of the state. He said these are the kind of changes in leadership that the country need not individual identity.
