The incumbent House of Representatives member representing Abuja South Federal Constituency, Alhaji Hassan Usman Sokodabo, has clinched the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for the 2023 election.
Sokodabo polled 72 votes to defeat three other aspirants, which included Ibrahim Daniel, who got 22 votes, Alhaji Adamu Mustapha, 26 votes while MD Jigo, got 2 votes.

Chairman of the electoral committee of the party, Aminu Suleiman Gwada, who announced the result amid tight security at Kuje town hall on Sunday, described the process as peaceful and transparent.
He said the process of the primaries met the laid down procedures and devoid of any rancor, even as he called on other constants to come together and join hands with the winner to ensure victory for the party in 2023 election.
Also speaking, the house of representatives member, Hassan. Usman Sokodabo, called on his opponents who lost out at the primaries to join hands with him.
He said though a reconciliation committee will be put in place to ensure that other aspirants that lost out and their supporters come together to work for the success of the party at the polls.
