The Director-General (DG) Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), Dr Dikko Umar Radda (Gwagwaren Katsina), has declared his interest to contest for the governorship seat of Katsina.
Dr Radda’s procession began at his ward, Radda in Chiranchi Local Government Area where he presented his letter of expression of interest to the APC party ward leadership.
While presenting the letter, Radda thanked his immediate constituents for the tremendous support he enjoyed from them right from the time he became the chairman of his local government, saying it was such support and prayers that kept him going till today.
The governorship aspirant then moved to his party office where he presented the same letter of interest before proceeding to the state headquarters of the party in Katsina for the same purpose.
Dr Radda was elected chairman of Chiranchi Local Government from 2005 to 2007 and he was two-time caretaker chairman of the local government under both Umaru Yar’adua and Shehu Shema administrations.
At the state party headquarters, he appealed to the leadership to put the interest of the state ahead of any other interests by ensuring that the most qualified and credible candidates are given the chance.
