Speaking during the programme, Alhaji Shagaya said SSM which is the political arm of his organization was birthed because of the need to change the narrative in the politics of the state.

“The whole process of this movement is to give the youth the opportunity to run for any political office in the state.

“We have seen many brilliant people that can come up on stage but they don’t have the capacity. Our movement is a platform for everybody that believe they have something to offer the state. So they should come forward to rule Kwara”, he added.

Shagaya who assured that the movement has nothing to do with him having any political ambition, called on the electorates to collect their PVCs to be able to adequate and effectively participate in the forthcoming electoral process.

“For the last six years, people have begged me to run for political office but I have refused. Then my business was even smaller than now. It makes no sense to run now. I want to use this platform to give people the opportunity to run. This is going to be a very transparent process”, he added.

He said although SSM has no relationship with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, the movement will support people that are working and doing well in the state just as the governor is doing.
