The five-man led by Prince Adenekan Olateru Olagbegi met with the PDP delegates and leaders including the governorship aspirant, Hon Ladi Adebutu, and the State Chairman, Sikirullahi Ogundele.
Speaking at the party secretariat in Abeokuta, Olagbegi described Saraki as the best candidate to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said Nigeria needs a competent leader to tackle the nation’s myriad of challenges and put the country on the right track.
Olagbegi said apart from his competence, Saraki represents a bridge between the youth and old generation.
He called on delegates to support Saraki’s candidacy at the forthcoming PDP primary.
“One thing I want you to take home is that, others would come, they would preach, they would manipulate.
“But remember we need competencies, remember the future of our children, remember what the people of yore, the older people before us, what they did to produce Baba Jeremiah Awolowo and you know the result that came thereafter and by the grace of God, we would produce another good president in the person of Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki,” Olagbegi said.
In separate remarks, Adebutu and Ogundele noted Saraki played a key role in resolving the protracted internal crisis within Ogun PDP.
“Saraki has done well for us in Ogun State as he was instrumental to the unity of the party after long and protracted crisis,” Ogundele said.
