2023: Nigerian celebrities who preach the gospel of PVC collection

The upcoming 2023 presidential election is fast approaching and several Nigerian celebrities have taken to their several social media pages to urge their fellow citizens to get their Permanent voters card (PVC) ahead of the general elections.

The presidential election which will take place on the 25th of February is one of the most anticipated elections in the history of Nigeria.

As several of these celebrities have urged citizens to get their PVC while they endorse their candidate, others haven’t expressed their support for these candidates publicly.

However, Daily Trust highlights some Nigerian celebrities that have been verbal about the collection of PVC.

Kate Henshaw

Kate Henshaw is an award-winning Nollywood actress who has been in the movie industry for more than two decades. Kate is one of the few Nigerian actresses who has advised Nigerians to get their PVC ahead of the general election.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, she asserted that Nigerians should start taking charge of what they want the country to be. While expressing her anger, Kate also wrote, “No more words!! I am just too pissed this morning… Is this life that we are living in Nigeria??”

“How did we let things get so bad?? People are suffering and no one gives a F##K!!!! We cannot continue like this!!! “Enough is Enough!!!

Falz

Nigerian rapper, activist, lawyer, and actor, Folarin Falana fondly known as Falz is also one of the entertainers who have urged Nigerians to get their PVCs.

Asides from being in the entertainment sector, Falz is one of the few Nigerian celebrities who is also an activist. The music star who was involved in the 2020 #ENDSARS protest has also urged fellow Nigerians to get their PVC ahead of the general elections.

Falz also went to organise a free show in Lagos and Abuja to mobilize Nigerian youths to get enlisted for the elections.

Mr Macaroni

Adebowale Adebayo, professionally known as Mr Macaroni is a popular Nigerian skit maker and actor.

Mr Macaroni merged with Falz in June 2022 to host a concert in Lagos and Abuja, in regards to the collection of PVC, according to the concert which was titled “Youths vote counts”, Nigerians were only allowed entry into the concert with either their PVC or Temporary Voter’s Card.

Mr Macaroni has also made a series of skits and visual content where he spoke about the necessity to get a voter’s card.

 

P-Square

The Psquare duo, Peter and Paul have also advised several Nigerians to get their voters card, ahead of the 2023 presidential elections.

Asides from informing Nigerian on the need to get their Voters card, the duo had also affirmed their support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.

In June 2022, Peter also devised a new tactic where he had taken to his social media account to inform his family, friends, and co-workers not to come to his home without their PVC.

M.I Abaga

Jude Abaga, popularly known as M.I is a Nigerian rapper and record producer.

M.I is also one of the few stars who have urged Nigerians to get their PVC towards the upcoming general elections.

The rapper is one of the few advocates for a system that works in the country, the artiste has been on his Twitter page, continuously tweeting about the need for Nigerians to get their PVC.

The rapper was also among the Nigerian celebrities that hosted a concert in Lagos and Abuja, alongside Falz and Mr Macaroni.

Nengi

Ex Big brother Naija’s housemate, Nengi has also advised Nigerians to get their PVC.

The media personality has urged Nigerians on several occasions to get their PVC and the usefulness of it it, Nengi had also asserted that there was a need to vote out the current administration ruling Nigeria

Adunni Ade

Adunni Ade is a leading actress in the Nollywood industry.

The bi-racial veteran actress had also taken to her social media accounts to urge Nigerian to collect their permanent voter’s card. According to her, it is ideal for Nigerians to exercise their civic obligations by engaging in political activity.

Adunni had also asserted that citizens of Nigeria must go and get their voter’s card and participate in deciding the fate of Nigeria.

She had also made it known that the upcoming general elections would be her first time voting in Nigeria.

“It will be my first time voting in Nigeria. Y’all! Hundreds of thousands of cards are ready for pickup. Change starts from you.”

“Pick yours up if you haven’t and let’s move the country in the right direction. God bless you! God bless Nigeria”
