2023: Kwara North endorses Abdulrazaq for second term

The All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State have endorsed Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for a second term in office.

They made their stance known weekend during a peaceful rally that was held at the council secretariat to declare their total support and commitment to the reelection of the governor for the top seat come 2023.

This is coming despite the agitation for a Kwara North Governorship bid that has continued to reverberate in the district which comprises Kaiama, Moro, Pategi, Baruten and Edu local government areas.

The event attracted top political leaders, party stalwarts and members of the APC from the local government, was organised by the APC Joint Youth Organisations.

It witnessed a large turnout of crowd amidst shouts of “Second term”, “no shaking”, “Sai Ramoni”, “Kaiama for Abdulrazaq 2023” and “AA nio”.

Speaking with newsmen during the event, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, who was represented by his special adviser on political, Mallam Gidado Abdullateef Alakawa, said the event was not only gratifying but testifies to the huge impact the governor had made since assumption of office to the people, adding that the people have seen the past, present and have been able to anticipate the future.

He called on the people of the state to continue to support the government which they brought forth to deliver and encouraged to sustain the good works it has started.

In his remark, one of the organisers of the programme and member representing Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon Halidu Danbaba said the governor’s starling performance had been unprecedented, adding that the council had never had it so good.

Danbaba said the governor had been very fair to Kwara North and other local governments in the state in view of the resources available to him, adding that there is no local government that he has not impacted in the entire state.

He, however, called for fixing of the three roads that lead to Kaiama which are federal Trunk A roads now in a deplorable state.

“The Governor should do everything possible to ensure that these roads are fixed for the benefit of the people and the economic transformation of the state because of the strategic place Kaiama occupies as the food basket of the state,” he said.

Also speaking, Chairman, Local Government Service Commission and Dan Masani of Kaiama Emirate Council, Alhaji Umaru Danladi, said the community is short of words in view of the catalogue of dividends of democracy in Kaiama.
