Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, an elder statesman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), High Chief Edem Duke, has urged his party to give its ticket Vice President Yemi Osinbajo (SAN).
According to the former Minister for Culture, Tourism, if the APC is smart enough to give its flag to the current Vice President going into the 2023 elections, the party will be the best for it as the party will have no problems winning the next presidential election.
According to the elder statesman, “Today in Nigeria, there are not too many people who have the professional capacity, academic accolades, the political sophistry, integrity, commitments, courage, the passion, and patience of Yemi Osinbajo. There are not too many Nigerians that are humble even at such positions. There are not too many Nigerians who are comfortable with other Nigerians across the entire country. Yemi is at the front of everything. He is highly respected across the country.
He said the VP does not find it difficult to interact across age barriers.
“Yemi OSinbajo is a man who is at home with youths. He is a man who is technologically savvy. He is the one who can engage you in any sphere of political, social, cultural, technological discourse. And this is what you need from a president. A president who can engage any world leader at any given time with little or no prompting. A man who can fly the country’s flag with seamless effusiveness. Those are the things that recommend him to me.”
He said Osinbajo represents a future that the young people will be proud of. He urged Nigerians to support Osinbajo en masse in the forthcoming election.
