The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Irepo/ Oorelope/ Olorunsogo federal constituency in Oyo State, Hussaini Yusuf Ijabah, says he is desperate to bring ‘real development’ to the three Local Government Areas better known as “Old Irepo.”
Ijabah, a banker and entrepreneur, noted that without political powers effecting a meaningful change and development in the constituency would be a mirage.

He said infrastructure, youth development, economic empowerment for traders and farmers in the agrarian communities would be his priorities if elected as a lawmaker.
Ijabah also promised to facilitate skills acquisition centres, recreation centres and libraries in all the three LGs.
The Jega-born politician noted that with his prior relationship with lawmakers and his experience, he is well-placed to represent Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo constituency in the tenth assembly.
“We have long way to go in Old Irepo and our people need serious orientation, infrastructure and other major developmental projects are still lacking. And you can only push for this while in power.
“There is no desperation for me in the position I am seeking. If there is any desperation at all, it’s for me to bring development in the constituency. Is it about facilitating employment? Development drive? I have the connection and necessary support to reduce redundancy in my constituency. This is all we need to do. I have a greater advantage over all other contestants from the constituency,” Ijabah told journalists.
The PDP candidate also maintained that leadership positions must be bestowed on those who have the experience and ability to deliver, insisting that it’s not enough to win election and turn a “bench warmer” at the National Assembly.
“You may have the capacity to win elections, but the ability to execute may be another challenge due to lack of experience and connections,” he said.
