Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Moshood Salvador, has cautioned Nigerians against voting for thieves, murderers and hypocrites in the 2023 general election.
He also spoke on the decision of the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to contest against the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju for the APC presidential ticket, describing it as a good development.
Salvador who decried the rising poverty and hardship in the land, said politicians were not concerned about the wellbeing of the people hence the increasing hardship.
He spoke at an annual Ramadan Lecture/Zakat event organised in Lagos.
Salvador blamed the pervasive poverty in the land on the increasing cost of food items.
According to him, with diesel which hitherto sold for N187 per litre now going for N700 per litre, there was no way the people would not feel the impact.
He said Nigeria was too richly endowed to cater for the masses and that no body should suffer poverty and hardship but lamented that the politicians have not benefitted the masses.
As the 2023 election approaches, the APC leader advised his followers and the electorate to think twice before voting thieves, murderers and hypocrites.
He said doing so would be tantamount to mortgaging their future and misusing the opportunity to make Nigeria a better place.
Salvador declared that he would rather quit politics than to be part of a system that would pauperise the citizens, saying as an APC chieftain he had never secured any contract from the federal, state or local government.
He said he has been surviving on his business and sustaining the tradition of the Ramadan lecture/feeding the poor inherited from his father for the past 24 years.
The politician reiterated that Nigerians have the opportunity to make Nigeria great again by voting for credible candidates.
