All Progressive Congress (APC)’s Youth Coalition For Effective Progress has begged a former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, to return to the party before 2023.

‘Why Atiku, Saraki, Kwankwaso won’t return to APC’
Iliyasu Ibrahim Makinta, the coordinator of the group, made the appeal at a news briefing held in Kaduna State.
The group commended the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the party and Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni’s effort to reconcile aggrieved members of the party.
The group lauded Buni for convincing the former Speaker of House of Representatives and a former member of the party Rt. Hon Yakubu Dogara to return to APC.
“We also appeal to the progressive governors and all members of the party to sheath their swords as Buni’s committee will continue to carry every body along as proven.
“We also give a welcome hand to all our former members, who decamped to the other parties, to see good reasons to come back home…so as to continue the uninterrupted good work for a progressive Nigeria,” he said.
Atiku and Saraki as well as other APC chieftains left the party during the build up to the 2019 general elections following some internal wranglings in the party.
Atiku went on to win the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential ticket but was defeated at the poll by President Muhammadu Buhari of APC.
Also, Saraki won the ticket to return to the Senate on the platform of PDP, but failed to win at the poll.
Atiku is rumoured to be interested in the 2023 Presidential election but it is not known yet if he will be contesting on the platform of PDP.
