2023: APC will retain power with Al-Makura as party chair – Group

The North-East APC Progressive Social Media Forum has endorsed a former governor of Nasarawa State, Sen Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, as the next national chairman of the party.

Speaking Monday in Gombe, the zonal chairman of the forum, Comrade Mu’azu Hina, said Al-Makura has the credentials to lead the party to victory in the 2023 general elections.

He said the endorsement followed a thorough examination of Senator Al-Makura’s “distinguished career in the civil service and his exceptional performance” as governor of Nasarawa State.

“After extensive consultations with women groups, youth associations and other critical stakeholders, our forum came to a conclusion that Al-Makura has what it takes to move our great party forward.

“For the APC to sustain the tempo and win the 2023 elections, Senator Al-Makura as chairman of our great party is not only an alternative but the only option before us,” the group said.

The forum chairman, therefore, called on the party’s stakeholders and the national delegates to put the interest of the APC first and elect a new chairman that will ensure victory for the party in 2023.

Responding, the Director-General of Al-Makura Campaign Organisation, Mr Dominic Mancho, commended the forum for the endorsement and assured them that the former governor would carry them along in taking the party to greater heights.
