2023: APC victory in danger, says Adamawa campaign coordinator

The Assistant Director Support Groups Coordination of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in the North East, Chief Sunny Sylvester Moniedafe, has said the action of some critical stakekholders of the party in Adamawa State is threatening the chances of the party in the 2023 general elections.
Moniedafe, a former APC national chairmanship contender spoke to Daily Trust on Thursday in Abuja.
He said aggrieved member of the party were planning to organise campaign rallies without recognising Senator Aisha Binani as leader of the Presidential Campaign Council in the state.

Moniedafe, who was member of the Buhari/Osinbajo Presidential Campaign Council in 2015 and 2019, however, appealed to all stakeholders in the state to do things right for the party’s victory in 2023.
He said poor in-house management and conflict of interests thwarted the APC from winning the 2019 polls in the state, saying this should serve as a deterrent ahead of 2023.
He said, “There are issues around the composition of Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council in Adamawa State. But I want to appeal to all aggrieved members of the party, (Senator Aishatu) Binani didn’t put herself there, she was chosen by the presidential campaign council coupled with the NWC and governors.
“They sat and made her the leader of the PCC in Adamawa State. Binani’s name is in the inauguration list. I want to advise the National Working Committee (NWC) to remain neutral. Some people are aggrieved for some reasons and I was told that we are going to have a meeting in Yola, but Namdas has equally fixed a meeting same day in Genyi.
“But the leader of the PCC in Adamawa is Senator Binani. If that meeting is holding then she should be there in person. Now, they claimed they were not informed. We should not divide our house before 2023 elections and stakeholders should be aware that we have this election to lose if we don’t sit up.
“We have never had a governor from Adamawa Central. We prayed for a candidate to emerge from Adamawa Central and God has given us. Now we are saying we don’t want Binani. This is definitely a danger for our victory in 2023. Peace should be given a chance.
“In all these we are doing, where is God in it? Where are the masses? We need peace for God sake. It’s about God first. I am the most wronged person in the APC but I am not angry because I believe in God. Let us come together and work for the party’s victory in 2023.”
