2022 Lagos Polo: Silver cup, Lagos low cup take centre stage

Over sixty-eight low handicap players and cookies stream into seventeen teams are expected to display their horsemanship and playing talents throughout this week as the prestigious 2022 Lagos international polo festival winds down to the grand finale. 

Lagos Polo Tournament Manager, Seyi Oyinlola confirmed to Polo Royals that the final stage will run from Tuesday, February 22, and climax on Sunday, February 27, 2022, with nine Lagos’ teams and eight visiting teams gunning for two major prizes, the Silver Cup and the Lagos Low Cup respectively.

Polo Royals gathered that the Lagos based teams that would be vying for the Low Cup include Golden Ranch, Polo Punks, A Plus, former champions, STL, and Caverton teams., just as tough and determined visiting oppositions are expected from  Port Harcourt, Abuja, and Ibadan

Four teams, Elektron Aragorn, Aragorn Saopolo, Hyde Energy Aragorn, and Lagos Vipers are the Lagos flag bearers as jostling for the glittering Silver Cup get underway at the foremost Ribadu Road Polo Ground in Ikoyi on Tuesday.

The grand finale would be preceded by a four-chukka curtain-raiser as the Port Harcourt Bobtrack Tractor team clashed with Lagos Golden Ranch in the final game of the debuting Chief of Naval Staff Cup on Saturday.
