The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has confirmed Senator Nurudeen Adeleke as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the July 16 governorship election in Osun State.
INEC Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Mrs Olusayo Adedokun said the final list of candidates eligible to participate in the election was released Friday.

With this development, the controversy over who is the PDP’s candidate between Adeleke and his challenger, Prince Dotun Babayemi would subside.
INEC also confirmed the incumbent state governor, Adegboyega Oyetola as the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The electoral body which also listed other candidates for the election, however, disqualified three parties namely, AA, APGA, ADC for not meeting the guidelines for the exercise.
