Ahead of the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State, the traditional ruler of Nawgu in Dunukofia Local Government Area, His Royal Highness Igwe George E. Okaa-Onwuogu, has advised political parties to respect the zoning arrangement in the state.
He said zoning had become part of the political equation in the state, noting that it is the turn of Anambra South to produce the next governor, and all political parties should endeavour to zone their governorship tickets to the area for peace, fairness and justice.
The monarch made the remarks on Friday while speaking to journalists.
“A former governor of the state, Peter Obi, introduced the formula and most people in the state are in support of it. Nobody should deceive any individual, institution or organisation by not choosing a credible governorship candidate from Anambra South,” he said.
According to him, for any political party to make inroad into the governorship election, it must select a flag-bearer from Anambra South because zoning arrangement has become part of the electorates.
