A group, known as South-East Nigeria Presidency Movement (SENPM), has stated that a president of Igbo extraction will redeem Nigeria’s lost glory and ensures her economic recovery.
The group made this known shortly after their zonal meeting held in Nkpor, Idemili North of Anambra State on Thursday.

The Deputy Director of Media and Publicity of the Movement, Chief Innocent Iloekwumma, who addressed journalists, lamented Nigeria’s woes and said there was a need to get the economy and security working again in the country.
According to him, the country’s economy has been badly battered by economic depression, political instability and a high level of insecurity occasioned by the bad leaders who have been ruling the country for decades.
He said that heaven and earth are annoyed with Aso Rock over the diminishing image of Nigeria and urged Nigerians to support the emergence of Nigeria president of Igbo extraction.
“To worsen the matter, most farmers who cultivated food crops are either chased away by herders or have their crops eaten up by cattle.
“Prices of foodstuff, petroleum products and other house-hold properties are no longer within the reach of an average Nigeria,” he said.
Speaking at the event, the Anambra State Coordinator of the group, Hon. Obioha Ireamoke, stated that providence had made the Igbo man enterprising.
According to Ireamoke, “We are demanding that an Igbo man should occupy that presidential seat to prove that Igbo people are not slaves or strangers in Nigeria.”
He disclosed that SENPM is currently waxing strong in all parts of the country with other ethnic groups supporting the move for a president of South-East extraction.
