*denies collecting N50million from Governor Tambuwal
The deputy Governor of Sokoto state, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu, has obtained nomination and declaration of interest form to contest for the governorship ticket of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the 2019 polls.
It would be recalled that Aliyu had failed to defect with his governor (Tambuwal) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A statement signed by his spokesman, Abubakar Bawa, said he obtained the form on Monday at the National headquarter of the party.
According to the statement, the deputy Governor was accompanied by the state chairman of the party, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida and two national lawmakers from the state.
Speaking to newsmen, Aliyu said he would give priority to the critical sectors of the economic if elected as Governor of the state.
He also expressed confidence that he would win at the primaries if there was no consensus arrangement.
He was also confident that the state would bounce back to APC in 2019.
He appealed to the members of the party in state to be patient and law-abiding.
The statement also debunked the rumour making the round that Governor Tambuwal had given Aliyu N50 million to purchase the form.
It described it as false and the handiwork of their political enemies.
