The National Chairman of the Mega Party of Nigeria (MPN), Hon Hamisu Santuraki, has emerged the presidential candidate of the party for the 2019 general elections.
Santuraki emerged after defeating three other aspirants at the primaries held on Wednesday in Abuja.
A National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Baba Shetima Arfor and the deputy director, Party Monitoring of INEC, Musa Husnu monitored the process.
The Chairman, MPN presidential primaries committee, Otunba Leke Adekoya, said Santuraki polled 2,239 of the 2,250 delegate’s votes to emerge winner.
In his acceptance speech, Santuraki said his emergence is an overwhelming challenge and a big burden.
“I am normally restless when I am trusted. I work very hard in trying to justify trust. I think what makes today extraordinary is the selfless allegiance of our party members. I kindly like all of us to reflect on the challenges that we are facing in our great country. My team and I shall convey relief. This is our day. Our day for being together with the zeal for rebranding Nigeria and Nigerians for service and progress,” he said.
