2019 polls: Emerhor battles Omo-Agege over senatorial seat

The All Progressives Congress (APC) may be set on the brink of implosion from Delta Central senatorial district, as leaders and elders of the district purchased and presented senatorial nomination and expression of interest forms to the leader of the party in the state, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor.

The district is currently being occupied by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who is regarded as a principal mastermind of the Jones Erue-led faction of Delta APC.

Before now, Senator Omo-Agege had remained the sole aspirant for the position in the district as he stood a chance of being returned unopposed.

But with the latest development, he would be fighting for the party’s ticket with Emerhor, regarded as the Delta APC leader, if he (Emerhor) concedes to the appeal of the Delta Central APC leaders and elders.

Olorogun Emerhor told the delegation and teeming supporters that he was awed by their gesture and assured that we would consult with family, political associates and stakeholders before acting on the appeal.

Leader of the delegation, Chief Sylvester Kohwo told Daily Trust that it was unfortunate that the district’s representative at the red chamber has brought disrepute to the Urhobo nation in the manner he has conducted himself at the National Assembly (NASS) saying the opportunity to correct the anomaly and field a refined, humane, respected and widely accepted candidate is now.
