2019: Katsina PDP settles for Senator Lado as guber candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina state has settled for Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke as its gubernatorial candidate for the 2019 general election.

The decision was reached after a mock election which took place at the party’s secretariat which had in attendance key party officials and 34 LGA party chairmen.

Sources at the event say the party’s 7 aspirants namely Senator Yakubu Lado Danmarke, Abdullahi Umar Tsauri popularly called ‘ Tata’, Engr Musa Nashuni, Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, Sada Ilu, and Arc. Ahmed Aminu Yar’adua and Kabir Kofa had earlier met in Kaduna ahead of today’s meeting where they agreed to come and attend today’s meeting alongside the mock election in Katsina.

However, some “agreements reached” in Kaduna were alleged to have been violated by some of the aspirants which did not go too well with many.

Already, feelers from Umar Tsauri ‘Tata’ camp have started raising concerns over the procedure.

Also, the Director of Youths at the Tata campaigns, Mustapha Radda said a seven-day grace have already been set aside by the camp to review the happenings with a view to taking the next possible action.
