A group under the aegis of Kannywood Initiative Door-2-Door for Atiku 2019 has declared support for the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar.
The group made the declaration through its National Coordinator, Mikail Isah Bn Hassan in an exclusive interview with Daily Trust in Jos on Monday.

Hassan, popularly known as ‘Gidigo’ in Kannywood explained another reason his group wouldn’t support Buhari was his inability to assist filmmakers despite playing a vital role in bringing him as the president in 2015.
He said, “We established our group to make Nigerians understand the qualities of Atiku and because Buhari has neglected filmmakers despite what they did for him in 2015.”
Gidigo boasted that Atiku has policies and programmes that would provide jobs for the teaming youths, improve the economy and filmmakers would also benefit from his policies.
“So far, we have state coordinators in the 19 northern states and each coordinator has eight people that would assist him in taking decisions in his state.
“We also have coordinators in each local government of 19 northern states, averagely so far, we have about 300,000 members that would go the nook and cranny of the north to campaign for Atiku,” he said.
Gidigo disclosed that some of the filmmakers and musicians in the group included famous actors, Sani Danja, Bashir Nayaya, Isah Ferozkhan, Ummi Zee-Zee, Zaharaddeen Sani, director, Fati Lamaj, and musician Abubakar Sani.
Others included, director Al’Amin Ciroma, producer and actor, Salisu Mu’azu, producer, Usman Mu’azu, director, Hafizu Bello and comedian actor, Mustapha Naburaska among others.
He said, “We took it upon ourselves that we would market Atiku on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and we would also do door-to-door campaign for Atiku.”
