Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the People’s Democratic Party, PDP presidential aspirant, has promised to lead Nigeria into economic progress if he is elected as the party’s presidential flag bearer and eventually during the general election.

Addressing the party’s delegates at Adokie Amiesiekema stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, venue for the PDP special convention, Atiku also promised to restructure Nigeria and return the country to true federalism.

He said, “Four years ago, the people of Nigeria voted for change, today, they are not happy with the change they are receiving, the economy has slow down, the say it’s recession, farmers are struggling, businesses closed, jobs are lost, when I become president, I will return Nigeria to path of economic progress and prosperity.”

“So, today, delegates of our great party have most important decision in their hands, they will decide who represents our party in the presidential election, when I emerged as a president, I will ensure that Nigeria is restructured and operate on true federalism.” Atiku stated.

Also, Speaker of the House of representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has explained that the problem of Nigeria is leadership, that is why PDP is preparing to once again offer the country good leadership.

He said though the nation also faced with decay in infrastructures, but when there is purposeful leadership on ground, infrastructural problems can be easily address.
