National Publicity Secretary and Head of Research and Development of Atikulation, one of the support groups of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Chidiebere Ernest Onuoha, has called on Nigerian youths to resist any temptation by unscrupulous politicians to use them as thugs during the 2019 general elections.
Onuoha said this in Owerri on Friday that experience had shown that violence during or after elections are usually caused and perpetrated by some gullible young people who make themselves available as cheap instruments of destruction in the hands of desperate politicians
He advised them to shun such acts as it would jeopardize their ambitions and future of Nigeria.
He tasked politicians to make the 2019 polls issue-based and not on petty sentiments, vote buying, rigging or thuggery, and charged them to follow the coming political debates for the presidential candidates to enable them make an informed choice.
Onuoha, said, “Atikulation is an open platform for all well meaning Nigerians especially the youth yearning for good governance and an impactful paradigm shift from the old order, noted that the youths have strategic and critical role in making sure that the 2019 polls violence-free.”
According to him, the group is a movement created to mobilize, inspire, nurture, educate and engage all Nigerian youths and women irrespective of party affiliation, tribe, religion, class and creed join in the current struggle to make Nigeria and Nigerians prosperous again.
