The former Governor of Plateau state, Senator David Jonah Jang has said that the ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, who emerged as the presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party is the president in waiting.
Jang, one of the 13 aspirants that participated at the recently concluded Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential election also said that he accepted in totality the outcome of his party’s presidential primary election.
Jang, a senator representing Plateau North at the national assembly made the statement in a press release on Monday.
He said, “Importantly, I find it quite necessary to call the attention of our President-in-waiting to the plight of the people of the Middle-belt. These are people who have sacrificed so much for our country but have gotten death and destruction of their properties and farmlands in return.
“Your excellency, when you get to power and you would get there by the grace of God, let there be security and welfare,” he said.
Jang added that on behalf of his Campaign Team and supporters, “I hereby congratulate Atiku Abubakar for a deserved victory and accept in totality the outcome of the primary elections.”
“Special commendation must also go to the Uche Secondus-led National Working Committee of our great party and the Convention Planning Committee chaired by His Excellency Ifeanyi Okowa the Executive Governor of Delta State, for a hitch free process which was free and fair by all standards of scrutiny.” He said
Jang added that the recently concluded presidential primary election conducted by his party would be one of the very best conventions in the history of PDP.
Jang also promised that as a loyal member and responsible stakeholder of PDP he would support and work for the actualization of the anticipated Atiku’s presidency which would be the answer to the multifaceted problems compounding the current occupant of Aso Rock.
