The party also ruled out ‎the possibility of merging with other political parties ahead of the elections.

Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, the AP National Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal Nalado‎ who doubles as chairman of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) said the party has a better spread and capacity to win elections.

"I think our performance in 2019 will be much better than the previous elections. Since the inception of this party, we have never had a presidential candidate but my party adopted a presidential candidate in 2010.

"In 2015, we didn’t field a presidential candidate because nobody approached us to show interest.  And to be sincere, we knew we didn’t have that national spread that we could present a presidential candidate.

"We are a serious political party, we know what we can do and what we cannot do. We have come of age now, we have a better spread now and I believe we can contest for presidency this time around.

‎"The way we are going, we believe we will field a presidential candidate and make sure we win the election," he said.
