Yobe state governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, has accused the military of aiding the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to rig the 2015 senatorial election in zone B of the state.
The governor, who made this accusation at the zonal APC rally, on Wednesday in Sabon Garin Nangere town, said he has written a letter to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Tukur Buratai, in that regard.
He advised the military and other security operatives to be professionals in their conducts by staying away from partisan politics and electioneering process for free, fair and credible election in the state.
“Any attempt by the officers to interfere with our politics in Zone B this time around, no matter how highly placed they were, be it General or field marshal, you will lose your job,” he said.
He said that APC would not fold its arms to watch military officers threaten the success of the party in the upcoming general elections.
He assured the party supporters that the APC gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, would sustain the developmental projects put in place with accountability and probity for a better state.
Also speaking, the APC governorship candidate called on people to vote APC at all levels, while assuring them accountability and good governance if given chance to succeed Governor Gaidam.
