No fewer than 2000 Abuja residents participated in the Prixair fitness exercise at Jabi beach on Saturday.
The fitness exercise which lasted for three hours was the second edition of the sporting event.
The first was held in April to mark the Easter celebrations.
The Chief Executive Officer of Prixair Group, Demola Banjo told reporters after the exercise that the wellness of Nigerians was paramount to his company.
He said, as part of Prixair’s Corporate Social Responsibilities, the company had instituted the fitness fiesta to provide a platform for Nigerians to gain fitness.
"People are exercising, they are burning fats and getting fit while also catching their fun. That is the essence of the programme", he said.
Banjo said plans were already being made to make the event a quarterly one while also taking it to other cities of the country.
Also speaking, popular dancer Kaffy who commended the organisers of the event, encouraged Nigerians to take their health seriously.
"Most Nigerians who reside in the cities hardly have time for exercise", she said. "All they do is work, work, work. It is therefore, heartwarming to have this opportunity to come shake our body."
Participants engaged in aerobics all through the three -hour fitness program.
