No fewer than 2,000 patients have received free medical treatment in Yabo Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The residents were beneficiaries of an outreach organized by the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital (UDUTH) in collaboration with the Yabo Academicians and Medical Practitioners (ACAMEDICS).

The ARD President Dr. Sufyanu Umar said, 150 doctors participated in the two-day outreach which involved surgery for 270 residents suffering from various diseases including appendix, hernia, and eye problems.

People with hypertension, diabetics, malaria, eye and dental problems also benefitted from medical outreach.

Also speaking, Dr. Faruku Bande noted that the exercise was also supported by wealthy individuals from the area adding that residents from neighbouring local government areas also benefitted from the medical outreach.
