Over 200 residents of Ovom community in Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have been given free medical treatment by the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa.
The hospital, which used the free medical outreach as part of the activities to mark its 21st anniversary, carried out free eye, HIV and dental treatments among other medical services.

Speaking during the medical outreach, the Chief Medical Director, Dr Dennis Alagoa, said the gesture was to further prove the hospital’s commitment towards boosting its relationship with the host community.
He promised the hospital’s commitment to providing health needs of Bayelsa people and its host communities.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr Sinizibe Ogrega, lauded the hospital for the free treatment, saying the exercise has afforded him the opportunity to check his blood sugar level, blood pressure and receive free medications .
A traditional ruler in Ibom community, Godknows Ifiola, thanked the centre for the free medical outreach, saying it has helped vulnerable persons in the community.
