A 20-year-old man, Chigozie Ozula, has been dragged before a chief magistrate court in Ondo town, Ondo State, for allegedly stealing a Haojue Suzuki motorcycle worth N300,000.
Ozula was dragged before the court for allegedly stealing the blue-colour motorcycle with plate number 10LGEAA003, property of one Ifeolu Akinsiku.
Police prosecutor, Sergeant Gbenga Akinsulure, said the accused committed the offence on November 5, 2018, at about 7.30pm at the Olorunsola junction, Yaba, Ondo.
Ozula, who is facing a one-count charge of stealing, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.
Akinsulure, who told the court that he would be calling three witnesses to testify in the case, applied for a date to enable him study the case file.
The lawyer for the accused, Barrister Ifeoluwa Omotosho, applied for bail for his client in the most liberal terms.
The magistrate, Mrs Odenusi Fadeyi, granted the accused person bail in the sum of N200,000, with two sureties in like sum. She said the sureties must be residents within the jurisdiction, while they must show evidence of payment of tax for the current year.
