A 20-year-old lady, Precious Aigbokhode, has been allegedly raped and stabbed to death in her apartment in Edo State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on July 17 at Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that the deceased was stabbed repeatedly and abandoned to bleed to death after she was allegedly raped by unknown persons.
Daily Trust learnt that one Zachariah was arrested in connection with the rape and death.
It was further gathered that the body of the deceased was discovered on Pandaponti Street in Agenebode town where it was dumped.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident.
He said Zachariah was helping the police in investigation.
Nwabuzor stated that one Paul reported to the police that the corpse of his younger sister, Aigbokhode, was found dead on Pandaponti Street.
“The police went to the scene where the corpse was dumped and observed marks of violence; multiple knife stabbing all over her body,” he added.
He said the corpse was evacuated to a mortuary for autopsy while preliminary investigation had commenced.
