2 weeks after, kidnapped Pegi siblings still in captivity

The five siblings kidnapped in Pegi community of Kuje Area Council two weeks ago are still being held by their abductors.

Daily Trust had reported that the five siblings, including a nine-year-old, were abducted by gunmen in Pegi, and the abductors were demanding N30m ransom.

A relative of the victims disclosed that the family had been communicating with the kidnappers, but that the ransom being demanded by the kidnappers had made things very difficult for the family.

He said, “For God sake, where will the family get N30m to pay as ransom? If the family has such money, I don’t think it will come and reside in Pegi; but we are praying that they pity the children and release them.”

The spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, did not pick calls or reply to an SMS sent to her phone.
