Two members of a vigilante group have appeared before a Kano Magistrate Court No 42 sitting in Norman’s Land for allegedly killing a young man.
The deceased was alleged to have refused to give them the sum of N5,000 as kickback after he was arrested with substances suspected to be Indian hemp.
Five members of the group were arrested in Jogana town of Gezawa LGA for their complicity in the murder of the young man they beat and pursued to a nearby pond, where he plunged and died.
However, two of the vigilantes were discharged and acquitted, while two others remain at large.

During the court sitting, members of the group pleaded not guilty to the charges and the judge, Justice Zuhra Madaki, adjourned the case till November 5, 2024, for further hearing.
