2 traders rescued from Lagos auto crash

Two people were on Tuesday rescued from the scene of an auto crash in the Ojota area of Lagos.

The victims were trapped inside a Volkswagen bus filled with vegetables at the new Garage by Odo Iya-Alaro area of Ojota around 5am.

It was learnt that the bus was struggling with a containerised vehicle before they both crashed into a barrier.

The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, supervised the rescue operation, said, “The rescued victims were immediately transported to the hospital by the Lagos State Ambulance Service.”

Similarly, a tanker crashed into a barrier at the same location.

Mr Bakare-Oki said, “All vehicles involved in the accidents were promptly cleared with the assistance of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

“Emergency responders at the scene included personnel from LASTMA, LASEMA, the police and passers-by.”
