2 suspects supplying guns to bandits in FCT border communities arrested

The police have arrested two men for allegedly supplying guns and ammunition to bandits and armed robbers at FCT-Niger State border communities.

The commissioner of police in the FCT, CP Sadiq I. Abubakar, told journalists at the command’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, that the suspects were arrested by the anti-kidnapping team of the command during clearance operation when their den was discovered.

He gave the names of the suspects as Anthony Udeh and Emmanuel Onuvu.

He said the suspects had confessed to supplying guns and live ammunition to armed robbers and bandits.

He said 900 cartridges were discovered while several items suspected to belong to victims of kidnapping were also found with the suspects.

He urged members of the public and residents of the FCT to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or abnormal movements through the police emergency lines, 08032003913, 08061581938 and 07057337653.
