Police in Anambra State have arrested two persons suspected to be cultists and armed robbers, along with various weapons in their possession.
The suspects, Okechukwu Chinwuko, (27) from Umunaga village, and Ezenwa Chinedu (22) from Umuneri village, were arrested by the police operatives attached to the Anti-Cultism Squad in Enugu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
According to state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects were arrested following credible information, which led to a raid on an identified black spot in Umunaga village, Awka South LGA.
Ikenga stated that incriminating objects recovered from the suspects include a pump-action gun, four live cartridges, a cutlass, criminal charms, and substances suspected to be hard drugs.

He said the operatives rescued two female victims who had been forcibly abused sexually by the suspects.
The arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation, and further details will be communicated in due course, he added.
